What to Expect When You Visit Us

If you're considering visiting us for the first time on a sunday morning, you may wonder what to expect.  Church services can be conducted very differently from church to church, and no one way os necessarily the "right" way.  At Calvary Chapel Pasco we conduct our corporate worship times and teaching services in a way we believe allows individuals and families to worship comfortably and individually, while understanding that the word of God instructs us to do all things in order and in consideration of our brothers and sisters around us.

Before Services

If you happen to show up a bit early that's no problem.  We usually begin gathering around 10:00 AM for fellowship and prayer.  There is usually coffee available and those of us who are there early would love to introduce ourselves and get to know a bit about you.

Before Services for Kids

Your children are welcome to accompany you into our main service, but we do have children's teaching available. To help maintain an orderly atmosphere, we ask that you sign your children into the youth classes before service and pick them up afterwards.

Services - Worship

At 10:30 we begin worship.  We believe strongly that our time of worship is our opportunity to give to God, and anything we receive from him in the process is an added blessing.  Our worship time usually consists of music in a contemporary acoustic style.  You will find that in this time you are free to worship openly before God whether that means clapping or lifting hands, or kneeling quietly in silent prayer.  We believe that this time is the time for the body of Christ to worship together, so you will also find that each person is respectful and considerate of those around them, and careful not to allow their time of worship to disrupt or distract others. Our time of worship usually lasts about 30 minutes.

Services - The Word

If worship is our time to give to God, the reading from his word is the time to receive from Him.  The vast majority of our teaching is done verse by verse, chapter by chapter through the Bible.  We believe strongly that every passage should be taught, and that in doing so we can declare the "whole counsel of God" (Acts 20:26-28).  We usually set aside about 30 - 45 minutes for teaching.

Sunday Service for Kids

Our Sunday youth services are not babysitting!  Our goal is to teach everyone the word of God at an age appropriate level so children are being taught the same word of God you are.  Our Sunday youth classes are open for kids in first through fifth grade.

After Services

After service most people aren't in too much of a rush to leave.  We often have some light snack food and some coffee available and most on Sundays we enjoy a time of open fellowship.  If you'd like to get to know others in the church, we're all looking forward to meeting you and learning a bit about you.  If you have questions about the teaching or the service, we'd love to answer them.  If you'd like prayer, this is a great time to find brothers and sisters happy to pray with you.  On the way out the door, don't be surprised if someone invites you to lunch.  Many sundays the fellowship doesn't end when the doors get locked.

After Services for Kids

Don't forget your little ones! As you make your way toward a cup of coffee, stop by the youth class and sign out your child.  If your kids are a little bit older, they're welcome in the youth room to play some video games and fellowship with other kids their own age.

God has given us a heart to not just be a "family church" but to truly be a church family.  Our sunday services are just one small part of our church life, and after you join us on Sunday morning we hope you'll come back for a Wednesday service, Tuesday prayer, or consider a small group home fellowship.  We get excited at each new face and look forward to meeting you!
